Job Title : Behavior Support Assistant
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Help the “Sanad” team carry out school behavioral initiatives (awareness events, assemblies) and implement other proactive interventions
-
Assist counselors in small group sessions on SEL (Social and Emotional Learning) skills
-
Supervise and monitor hallway behavior
-
Implement individual behavioral support plans such as CICO (check-in, check-out)
-
Document daily behavior and track the progress of interventions
-
Help conduct behavioral investigations
- Implement restorative practices for reintegration (mediation between students, reflection sessions) and follow up on consequences
- Other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisor
Working Relationship
-
Counselors – frequent contact to assist with daily activities
-
Students – frequent contact to provide behavior support services
- Other staff and professionals – contact as needed to meet student needs
Education, Skills and Experience
-
High School Education; Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred
-
2-5 years of relevant full-time work experience with children in inclusive settings
-
Empathetic, patient, and culturally sensitive
-
Skilled in positive reinforcement and de-escalation
-
Collaborative and team oriented
-
Strong observational and documentation skills
-
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Good writing skills with the ability to draft and edit a variety of written reports and communications and to articulate ideas clearly and concisely; Arabic proficiency is essential
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
