Behavioral Health Revenue Cycle Consultant (Contract | Audit + Claims Reconciliation)

La Tanya Wallace, NP & Associates is seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Billing Reconciliation Consultant to perform a focused revenue-cycle review for a small outpatient psychotherapy and psychiatry practice.

Our practice currently sees approximately 30 client visits per week across therapy and psychiatric services billed primarily through insurance. We are seeking a consultant to review claims activity, identify revenue leakage, and help resolve specific billing issues, including Medicare claims that have been marked as unprocessable.

This is a short-term diagnostic and reconciliation project, not a full outsourced billing engagement.

Scope of Work

The selected consultant will:

• Review recent claims activity for therapy and psychiatry services
• Investigate Medicare claims marked unprocessable
• Review clearinghouse rejections and denials
• Reconcile visits completed vs claims submitted and adjudicated
• Review ERA/EFT alignment and payment posting
• Identify payer-specific billing or workflow issues
• Estimate recoverable vs likely lost revenue
• Provide a short written summary of findings and recommended next steps
• Optionally assist with correcting and resubmitting recoverable claims

Initial review scope will focus on the most recent 90–120 days of billing activity.

Required Experience

Candidates must have experience with:

• Behavioral health / psychotherapy / psychiatry billing
• Medicare Part B billing and claim troubleshooting
• ERA / EOB interpretation
• Denial and rejection analysis
• Clearinghouse rejection reports
• Insurance payment reconciliation

Preferred Experience

Strong preference will be given to candidates with:

• Experience auditing revenue cycle workflows for small outpatient practices
• Familiarity with telehealth billing and modifiers
• Experience working with psychotherapy and medication management billing
• Independent contractor billing or consulting experience

Engagement Structure

• Contract / project-based

• Potential short-term follow-up work for claim correction and recovery
