Purpose of the role

In this role, you will support day-to-day operations of USB’s group benefits programs and help ensure compliance with applicable government regulations. You must have excellent customer service and experience administering employee benefits.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving and auditing invoices for payment.
  • Provide professional human resources services in a consultative role via the phone, email and in person to ensure the needs of the workforce are met.
  • Responsible for keeping and maintaining associate records.
  • Manage short-term disability and FMLA leaves, including completion of required paperwork and works in conjunction with Payroll accurately track usage.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations employment laws.
  • Administers various human resources plans and procedures for personnel, assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
  • Performs benefits administration as needed.
  • Works closing with HR Director and shares best practices.
  • Maintains HRIS records and compiles reports from the database.
  • Conduct exit interview with employees to determine reasons behind a separation. Reports interview results to management.
  • Conduct 30- & 90-day interviews with new hires.
  • Communicate HR updates to managers and employees.
  • Conduct and approve open enrollment.
  • Assist and communicate Evidence of Insurability requirements.
  • Acts as a HR liaison to assist in coordinating answers for HR-related inquires related to personnel, policies, benefits or other matters.

Education and Experience

  • Two-years minimum experience in human resources, ideally administering employee benefits
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Experience with HRIS and benefit databases, preferably ADP
