Position Summary:
Assist with the administration, analysis, facilitation, and explanation of benefit programs to Hospitals employees. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. No patient care assignment.


Detailed responsibilities:
  • Maintain expert knowledge of plans and processes necessary to administer plans
  • INQUIRIES – Respond to inquiries with employees, management, and vendors. Process life and disability claims
  • HRIS – Serve as HRIS resource for administration and process improvement. Coordinate vendor interfaces and reporting needs to improve data efficiencies and reporting capabilities. Review, research and correct discrepancies on vendor return files. Liaise with HRIS staff to identify errors and generate special reporting
  • BENEFITS ADMINISTRATION – Process life and disability claims. Perform manual update/enrollments of benefits as needed. Upload files and prepare refunds and deductions as needed for payroll processing
  • PROJECTS – Oversee and conduct special projects as assigned, e.g., biometric screenings, open enrollment, total compensation statement
  • ORIENTATION – Prepare new employees hire packets and coordinate new employee benefits orientation
  • AUDIT – Develop, oversee and conduct various routine and special audits. Research and correct data to maintain integrity of plans
  • RECONCILIATION – Prepare and submit invoices for processing, track expenditures and reconcile monthly
  • ELIGIBILITY FILES – Run and load files, research and respond to discrepancies
  • TUITION REIMBURSEMENT – Manage tuition reimbursement process from start to finish
  • RETIREMENT PLAN VESTING – Perform bi-weekly vesting calculation and updates for terminated employees
  • COMMUNICATION – Develop communication materials related to benefits department initiatives. Monitor website accuracy and review with manager items needing updates
  • POLICIES AND PROCEDURES – Review and update policies and procedures. Develop and maintain administrative procedures for the job
  • DEVELOPMENT – Enhance professional growth and development through participation in education programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops

  • Bachelor's Degree


Experience:
Essential:
1 year directly related experience

Nonessential:
Bilingual English, Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo Benefits experience
