Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Billing & Revenue Cycle Manager to lead and optimize the revenue cycle for our four-location primary care group (two rural, two non-rural). The ideal candidate brings extensive billing and AR management experience, strong leadership skills, and deep proficiency with NextGen Healthcare. You will oversee all billing operations, ensure accurate and compliant claims, reduce denials, and drive financial performance across the organization.

Key Duties

  • Develop and implement billing policies and standardized workflows across all clinic locations.
  • Supervise daily billing operations including charge capture, claim submission, payment posting, AR follow-up, and patient billing.
  • Optimize and manage all revenue cycle workflows in NextGen (EHR + PM), including templates, edits, workqueues, and reporting.
  • Monitor and report on key revenue cycle KPIs; recommend and execute improvement strategies.
  • Lead denial management efforts by analyzing root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and front-office teams to ensure accurate documentation and clean claims.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, Mississippi Medicaid, and payer-specific guidelines.
  • Oversee staff training and development on billing processes, coding standards (CPT, ICD-10), and system updates.
  • Coordinate with clearinghouses, payers, and third-party vendors to ensure timely and accurate claim processing.
  • Prepare clear, actionable financial and performance reports for leadership.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with NextGen Healthcare (EHR + PM) required.
  • Extensive knowledge of medical billing, coding systems (ICD-10, CPT), payer rules, and denial management.
  • 5+ years revenue cycle or billing leadership experience, preferably in primary care.
  • Strong analytical abilities with the capacity to interpret complex data and identify trends.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Thorough understanding of healthcare regulations and HIPAA compliance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
