Billing Specialist (Medical Billing - Surgery Center)

Responsibilities:

Review and enter charges according to the facility's policies and procedures with our outsource vendor to complete charge capture. Monitor and fix clearinghouse claim rejections. Submit claims to third-party payers, insurance follow ups and appeals. Obtain authorizations and referrals for procedures. Maintain correspondence regarding billing questions and calls from patients regarding statements. Perform other duties as assigned.

Position requirements:

Two or more years medical billing experience - Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and other commercial insurance Plans and billing rules in terms of charge capture, CPT codes, modifiers, etc... Understanding information on Explanation of benefit (EOBs), good computer skills and proficient in Excel. Candidate must be interpersonal, detail oriented with good communication and organizational skills.
