Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Billing Specialist / Revenue Cycle Coordinator to join our dedicated healthcare billing team. This role is essential in managing the full revenue cycle process, ensuring accurate billing, coding, and collections to support the financial health of our practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong medical billing expertise, familiarity with electronic health record systems, and a thorough understanding of medical coding standards including DRG, CPT, ICD-9, and ICD-10.

Responsibilities

• Work insurance claims from submission through payment or resolution
• Follow up on unpaid/denied claims with commercial and government payers
• Identify and resolve denial trends and billing issues
• Review and correct coding or claim errors when needed
• Post and reconcile payments (as needed)
• Assist with patient account questions and balances
• Collaborate with front office and clinical teams to resolve billing discrepancies

Experience

• Prior experience in medical billing or revenue cycle management within a healthcare setting is required.
• Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems used for medical records management is essential.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding (including DRG, CPT coding), and insurance claim procedures.
• Familiarity with ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding conventions is necessary for accurate diagnosis classification.
• Experience handling medical collections, insurance denials, and appeals processes is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of orthopedic or musculoskeletal healthcare practices will be considered an asset.
• Excellent organizational skills combined with attention to detail are vital for success in this role.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
