Dentons Bingham Greenebaum LLP is recruiting for a Billing Supervisor to reside in our Louisville, Indianapolis or Lexington office. The Billing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing key billing processes, supporting attorneys and billing staff, and ensuring compliance with firm billing policies and guidelines. This role serves as a primary liaison between attorneys, billers, and legal administrative assistants, provides operational reporting and analysis, and supports billing systems including 3E, Intapp Time, Billstream, and eBillingHub. The position also plays a leadership role in workload management, onboarding, and team coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day‑to‑day supervision and direction to the billing team, ensuring workloads and deadlines are met.
  • Initiate prebill generation following month-end close for all attorneys and billers; notify appropriate groups upon completion.
  • Share in the workload to prepare, review, and submit monthly client invoices
  • Ensure firm billing processes, policies, and guidelines are consistently followed.
  • Generate monthly and ad-hoc Billstream reports, providing statistical insights for attorney and biller dashboards.
  • Monitor delinquent billing activity and follow up with attorneys as needed.
  • Submit monthly recommendations to firm leadership regarding missing time and billing non-compliance.
  • Generate and analyze monthly eBillingHub reports; identify trends related to excessive write-offs and communicate findings with e-billing specialist, leadership and Partners.
  • Support Intapp Time, including troubleshooting time entry and system-related issues.
  • Act as the primary liaison between billers and attorneys/LAAs to resolve billing-related issues; escalate to management when appropriate.
  • Assist with e-billing issues and coordinate resolution with the e-billing specialist.
  • Onboard new attorneys, providing training on billing policies, time entry expectations, and firm guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate assignments for new and departing attorneys, LAAs, and billing specialists ensuring balanced workloads and current system records.
  • Approve PTO requests for the Billing Team and proactively manage workloads to ensure adequate coverage.

Qualifications:

· Experience:

· Experience leading teams, mentoring staff, or managing operational functions preferred.

· 3+ years of billing experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred.

· Experience with 3E, Intapp Time, Billstream, and eBillingHub.

· Familiarity with 3rd party e-billing platforms and legal billing guidelines.

· Skills:

· Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and provide leadership support within a team environment.

· Strategic, future‑focused mindset to identify opportunities to drive impactful improvement.

· Strong knowledge of legal billing processes and best practices.

· Analytical skills with the ability to interpret billing data and identify trends.

· Excellent communication and problem solving skills with the ability to work effectively with attorneys, billing staff, and firm leadership.

· Effectively navigates change and shifting priorities while ensuring precision and quality.

· Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
