BIM Document Controller

Job Summary

The BIM Document Controller is responsible for managing, organizing, tracking, and maintaining all BIM-related documents, drawings, models, and project records. The role ensures that project documentation is accurate, up-to-date, properly distributed, and compliant with company procedures and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Document Control

  • Manage and maintain all BIM documentation, including drawings, models, reports, RFIs, submittals, and project correspondence.
  • Ensure proper document numbering, filing, revision control, and archiving in accordance with company standards.
  • Maintain document registers and tracking logs for all incoming and outgoing documents.
  • Distribute approved documents to relevant project stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Monitor document workflows and ensure compliance with project procedures.

BIM Coordination Support

  • Assist the BIM team in maintaining model-related documentation and records.
  • Upload, organize, and manage BIM models within the Common Data Environment (CDE).
  • Track model revisions, updates, and approvals.
  • Coordinate with BIM Coordinators, BIM Engineers, Consultants, and Contractors regarding document submissions and approvals.
  • Ensure that all BIM deliverables are properly stored and accessible.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all project documentation complies with project requirements, ISO standards, and company policies.
  • Conduct regular audits of project documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of project information.

Reporting

  • Prepare weekly and monthly document control reports.
  • Monitor document submission status and provide updates to project management.
  • Generate reports on outstanding approvals, revisions, and document progress.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in Document Control or BIM Management is an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in document control within construction, engineering, or BIM environments.
  • Experience working on large-scale construction or MEP projects is preferred.
  • UAE/GCC experience is an advantage.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), BIM 360 (manadatory), Aconex, Procore, SharePoint, or similar document management systems.
  • Used to ISO 19650 DC requirements (mandatory)
  • Good understanding of BIM processes and workflows.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Revit and Navisworks is an advantage.

Experience:

  • ACC (Autodesk Construction Cloud), BIM360 : 5 years (Required)
  • ISO 19650 DC requirements: 3 years (Required)
