Position Overview
The BIM Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes, standards, and technologies across projects. The role ensures effective collaboration, data integrity, and digital delivery throughout the project lifecycle, supporting design, construction, and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
BIM Strategy & Standards
- Develop and maintain BIM standards, workflows, templates, and protocols.
- Define and enforce BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and project-specific BIM requirements.
- Lead BIM implementation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Project & Model Management
- Oversee BIM coordination and model integration across disciplines.
- Manage model quality, clash detection, and data consistency.
- Coordinate BIM deliverables and ensure timely submissions.
- Support 4D, 5D, and asset information modeling where required.
Collaboration & Coordination
- Act as the primary BIM point of contact for internal teams, clients, and consultants.
- Facilitate coordination meetings and digital reviews.
- Ensure effective information exchange between stakeholders.
Technology & Tools
- Manage BIM software platforms and digital tools (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360 / ACC).
- Evaluate and implement new BIM technologies and workflows.
- Support Common Data Environment (CDE) setup and governance.
Training & Support
- Provide BIM training, guidance, and technical support to project teams.
- Mentor BIM Coordinators and Modelers.
- Promote best practices and digital skills development.
Quality & Compliance
- Perform model audits and quality checks.
- Ensure BIM deliverables meet contractual, technical, and regulatory requirements.
- Support project handover and asset information delivery.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in BIM or digital delivery roles.
- Proven experience managing BIM on multidisciplinary projects.
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in BIM authoring and coordination tools.
- Strong understanding of BIM standards, workflows, and data management.
- Experience with clash detection, model federation, and data validation.
- Knowledge of 4D/5D BIM and asset information management is an advantage.
