Bioinformatic Postdoctoral Fellow position in microbiome and alcohol research

Dr. Yanjiao Zhou’s lab at the University of Connecticut Health Center is seeking a talented bioinformatics postdoctoral fellow to investigate the role of the gut microbiome and virome in patients with alcohol use disorder, and their contributions to treatment response. The candidate should be proficient in R, Python, and Linux. Responsibilities include processing microbiome and other omics datasets, performing statistical analyses and machine learning approaches to identify biomarkers of treatment responses. The candidate will also develop and implement bioinformatics pipelines in a high-performance computing environment.

This position is supported by the NRSA-funded T32 Institutional Research Training Program at UConn Health and provides an NRSA-level stipend, health insurance, and travel funds for conferences and mini-courses.
