Biology Teacher

Job Summary:
The Biology Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and effective instruction in Biology to Grades 9 and 10 in accordance with the Aga Khan University Examination Board (AKU-EB) curriculum. The teacher will foster scientific understanding, critical thinking, and practical knowledge among students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver Biology lessons aligned with AKU-EB curriculum standards.
• Teach core topics including cell biology, human physiology, genetics, ecology, and biodiversity.
• Conduct practical lab sessions and demonstrations to enhance conceptual understanding.
• Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, and assessments in line with board requirements.
• Assess and evaluate student performance through tests, assignments, and practical exams.
• Encourage inquiry-based learning and scientific reasoning.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
• Prepare students for board examinations with proper guidance and revision strategies.
• Ensure safe handling of laboratory equipment and materials.
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school academic planning activities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology or a related field.
• B.Ed./M.Ed. is preferred.
• Prior experience teaching Grades 9 & 10.
• Familiarity with AKU-EB curriculum and assessment methods preferred.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to conduct lab experiments and practical sessions effectively.
