Job Overview

The Biomedical Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, safety, and compliance of all medical equipment within the clinic. This includes preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, procurement evaluation, staff training, and coordination with suppliers and regulatory bodies. The role serves as the technical expert supporting clinical and operational teams to ensure all devices are used effectively, safely, and in accordance with healthcare standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct comprehensive training sessions for medical and nursing staff, ensuring proper handling, operation, and maintenance of medical equipment at the end-user level.

- Evaluate new medical devices and technologies for procurement, preparing detailed technical reports and recommendations to support management decisions.

- Investigate equipment issues to determine warranty coverage, manage warranty claims efficiently, and ensure timely servicing and repairs.

- Implement regular monitoring and preventive maintenance programs to maintain optimal device performance, minimize downtime, and extend equipment lifespan.

- Respond promptly to service calls, perform diagnostic assessments, and carry out repairs or troubleshooting while adhering to safety and manufacturer protocols.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all medical devices, including maintenance logs, calibration reports, and service histories in compliance with industry and regulatory standards.

- Liaise with relevant authorities to ensure all medical devices and equipment meet local regulatory and licensing requirements.

- Maintain effective communication with procurement teams, suppliers, and end-users to provide technical insights, support purchasing activities, and ensure smooth operations across departments.

- Oversee and maintain the performance, safety, and compliance of key medical equipment across various departments.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field.

- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a clinical or hospital environment.

- Strong knowledge of medical device standards, maintenance protocols, and regulatory compliance (Qatar MOPH / DHP preferred).

- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

- Ability to train staff and document equipment records in compliance with industry best practices.
