Position: BMS Technician
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and configure BMS hardware and software (controllers, sensors, interfaces).
- Monitor and maintain building automation systems (HVAC, lighting, fire alarms, access control).
- Perform preventive maintenance and system diagnostics to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and repair faults in wiring, sensors, controllers, and communication networks.
- Respond to alerts and alarms generated by the BMS and take corrective action.
- Assist in commissioning new systems and upgrades.
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and IT teams for integrated system performance.
- Maintain documentation (drawings, configurations, maintenance logs, service reports).
- Support energy management by optimizing BMS for efficiency.
- Provide technical support and training to staff on BMS usage.
Requirements & Skills:
- Experience: 2–5 years in BMS or similar automation/controls role.
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of BMS protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus) and HVAC controls.
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with energy efficiency principles and sustainable building practices.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; diploma/certification in electrical, electronics, automation, or mechanical systems preferred.
- Preferred: Manufacturer-specific BMS certifications (Honeywell, Siemens, Schneider, Johnson Controls).
