Job purpose:

PG & MDSA Boardman is primarily responsible for the operation of all the aspects of these sections in a safe and efficient manner during the shift. He is directed by Shift Engineer for maintaining optimum parameters of the section to ensure compliance of the operating guidelines. He is responsible for ensuring compliance with SEQS standards. He is also responsible for the safety of personnel's and equipment in Power Generation and Main Diesel Storage Area

Qualifications:

B.Tech/DAE in Chemical / Mechanical/ Electrical with min 8-10 years hands-on experience of similar facilities

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

· He is responsible for safe operation of the equipment in his assigned area.

· He is responsible for the safety of personnel's and equipment.

· He is responsible for the safe operation of plant & auxiliaries and:

o Storage and distribution and maintaining PG & MDSA fuel tanks.

o Ensure to meet the Power supply demand to site wide facilities.

o Proper housekeeping of area

o Maintaining equipment required for fire detection & prevention.

o Managing proper & safe functioning of instrument & control

o Maintaining logbooks & log sheets

o Informing the concerned AM / DM about any change in regular operations

· He is responsible for running the trend analysis of the parameters and report to AM Utilities

  • Load management plan compliance according to load demand & contribution sharing with Solar system.
  • Ensure that the operational parameters are within their limits and take precautionary and timely actions accordingly.
  • Treat any abnormality in the system in an effective manner and inform senior management timely.
  • Maintain & record the Operational log sheets, Downtime of plant equipment’s and Generation & Distribution Record on daily & Monthly basis.
  • Follow up to maintain the diesel storage reserve and filling & consumption record on daily basis and communicate to Shell representative.
  • Take preventive measures to avoid unwanted conditions and for smooth operation of plants.
  • Participate in regular training to improve performance, acquire professional licenses, and maintain certification required by company and government regulations.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with other power plant personnel, including managers, engineers, and repair technicians to encourage teamwork and coordinate tasks.
  • Follow up, gather information & Take decisions on the base of routine inspection of operator, Mechanical Technician & LV/HV Technician

· Report timely Operational concerns, issues & maintenance required to AM-PG & MDSA.

  • To support the maintenance team regarding preventive & Corrective maintenance for smooth operation of plant

· He is responsible for facilitating the operators in LOTOTO and isolating the equipment / valves / breakers etc

· He is responsible for off the job injury/illness reporting to his supervisor & seeking medical treatment.

· Submit medical treatment documents to medical officer for health assessment before resuming job.

· Receive fitness to work plan from medical officer and submit to his supervisor.

· Report illness/injury of his employee/worker to HSE department & doctor for medical advice

· Follow "Return to Work Plan" after prolonged illness.

· Follow the role statement defined in the emergency response plan.

· Actively participate in occupational health communication process.

· Report any pain or discomfort due to ergonomics issues to Site doctor.

· He is to ensure compliance of the operating guidelines and standing orders issued by the Manager Utilities.

· He checks instruments and controllers, logs operators log sheet, checklists, and laboratory results.

· He is responsible for handling work permits related to his area and ensuring the safety of the maintenance and operation staff.

· He is responsible for checking all the safety equipment in his area.

· He is responsible for informing the incoming boardman of all the activities, defective equipment, unusual upsets, and prevailing plant conditions / parameters at the time of handing over the charge.

· He is responsible for continuous monitoring, troubleshooting & emergency handling of all equipment, controllers & parameters on the SCADA system.

· He will also ensure that SCADA never remains unattended at any time. Either his supervisor or the operator is available for monitoring, troubleshooting of all the parameters on SCADA in his absence.

· He is to ensure that all Safety critical devices in his area are in healthy state.

· He is to ensure that the fuel quality remains within the specified guidelines.

· Adherence to labor laws, rules regulations, policies & procedures.

· Be prepared to work for long hours as per labor law and promptly respond to call outs to achieve & implement Section / Department objectives.

· Carry out all work related to his craft, job description and any other work assigned by supervisor on need basis.

· Ensure that adequate knowledge is gained regarding HSE Risk Assessment techniques to be able to participate in Risk Assessment pertaining to their areas.

· Ensure participation in PSSR conducted in their operated area.

· Ensure participation in the incident investigations pertaining to their operated areas.

· Keep an eye on the performance of Diesel Engines & other auxiliaries, their operational status, and any alarms or warnings that may arise.

· Use the SCADA system to visualize real-time data, such as Fuel flow rates, pressures, temperatures, and other relevant parameters.

· Manually control the Diesel Engines' on/off states based on Load demand. This can include taking in operation DGs when load demand reaches a certain threshold and deactivating them when load demand reduces.

· Fuel filling of Day tanks of DGs as & when required based on the operational requirement.

· Ensure that DGs are operating within safe operating ranges and troubleshoot any anomalies that arise during operation.

· Set up and monitor parameters such as DGs Voltages, amperes, frequency, and temperature limits to prevent tripping, overheating or other issues.

· Utilize the SCADA system to configure automated processes for DGs operation, allowing the system to handle routine tasks without constant manual intervention.

· Maintain effective communication with supervisor (AM / DM Power Utilities) and report him any abnormality in the regular operations.

· Coordinate with field operators during the start-up and shut-down processes to ensure smooth transitions and prevent any operational hiccups.

· Be prepared to respond to emergencies such as power outages, equipment failures, or unexpected high load demands.

· Execute emergency protocols to ensure the safety of Power Plant & MDSA.

· He is responsible for periodic testing of the fire suppression system in MDSA.

· Provide periodic reports on Diesel engines performance, efficiency, and any maintenance needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to Rs135,000.00 per month
