Bookkeeper (30 hours/week) – Distribution Business

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage the day-to-day accounting operations of our growing distribution business. This is a long-term position with approximately 30 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Accounts Receivable (AR): create invoices, track payments, and follow up on outstanding balances
  • Manage Accounts Payable (AP): enter bills, verify vendor invoices, and process payments
  • Process payroll accurately and on schedule
  • Perform invoice verification and reconciliation with bank transactions and vendor statements
  • Complete monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate financial records in Sage
  • Assist with preparing financial reports for management and CPA
  • Ensure all records are organized and ready for tax filing and compliance

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper (2+ years preferred)
  • Required: Experience with Sage (Sage 50 / Sage Intacct or similar)
  • Strong understanding of AR/AP, payroll, and reconciliations
  • Familiar with U.S. accounting practices and sales tax
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and communicate clearly

  • Location: Santa Barbara preferred, remote possible
  • Hourly rate: $28–$40/hour (depending on experience)
