Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. Duties
- Record and process all financial transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections
- Prepare journal entries, conduct account analysis, and maintain the integrity of the general ledger in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Reconcile balance sheets, perform account reconciliation, and handle month-end closing procedures
- Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and governmental accounting requirements
- Support budgeting activities by tracking expenses and preparing financial reports as needed
Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, or similar tools
- Strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and journal entries
- Experience with financial concepts including balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, and bank reconciliation
- Knowledge of governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting practices is a plus
- Ability to perform 10 key typing efficiently for data entry tasks
- Familiarity with payroll processing, tax experience, and accounts payable/receivable management
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills for account reconciliation and general ledger accounting
- Effective communication skills for financial report writing and collaborating with team members
