Job Summary
Bookkeeper needed to join our team. Position is in a medium sized independent retail grocery store. Candidate must be experienced, detail-oriented, and flexible.

The ideal candidate has previous bookkeeping experience, strong organizational skills, and is familiar with accounting software.

Duties

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks.
  • Record and reconcile transactions in the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and process journal entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Assist with payroll processing.
  • Support financial report writing by compiling data for budgets, financial statements, and audit documentation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably in the retail environment, but not required
  • Previous experience with in accounting software.
  • Understanding of bookkeeping principles and general ledger accounting.
  • Knowledge of governmental accounting practices and tax experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, and account reconciliation procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; proficiency in 10 key typing is desirable.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and support financial reporting efforts.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
