General Description:
Arms of Love International is a nonprofit organization committed to providing support and care for children who have endured abuse, abandonment, neglect, or have been orphaned in Nicaragua or the Philippines. Our mission is to safeguard and nurture children from vulnerable backgrounds through the establishment of children's homes and community-based initiatives. - The position is responsible for all bookkeeping duties related to employee expense reports, payroll, international wires, payables, donations, and donor receipting, preparing bank deposits and reconciliations, and basic financial reports.
- The position is responsible for the administration of basic human resource functions including employee benefits (during open enrollment and as needed) and policies and the filing of quarterly and annual reports for workers comp, payroll taxes, 1099, allowances, foreign and domestic corporation, and memberships.
- The position is responsible to administratively contribute to and support the Administrative Committee and participate in the annual financial audit.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Reconcile the bank statements.
- Administer the processing, recording, and receipting of all electronic and paper check giving.
- Weekly processing of Arms of Love payables including check writing and general ledger entries.
- Collect information and prepare monthly wire transfers to Nicaragua and the Philippines.
- Prepare and process the monthly payroll figures. This will include tracking employee hours, sick, vacation, holiday and leave days.
- Process annual reports for Workers Comp, State of CA, State of CO, and State of TX-Statement of Information, membership renewal and 1099 Statements.
- Prepare and file quarterly reports for Workers Comp and audit monthly reports produced by payroll.
- Administer open enrollment of employee health benefits.
- Facilitate and update Arms of Love International’s insurance policies.
- Update Executive Director with current financial information for publications etc.
- Support the Administrative Committee working with the Executive Director to prepare an agenda.
- Work with the Executive Director to prepare the annual budget.
- Work with the Treasurer of the Board, Executive Director, and Accountant/Auditor to prepare annual audited financial statements, tax returns and membership renewal applications.
- Work with the Executive Director and Nicaragua and Philippines Team to collect and review monthly financials and prepare appropriate financial reports for the Administrative Committee and Board of Directors.
- Manage Arms of Love Database.
- Stay up to date with tax laws and industry standards.
- Provide general administrative/financial support as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Christian actively involved in a local church.
- Working knowledge, experience and skill using QuickBooks (accrual accounting) and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using other Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Outstanding organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain organization and accuracy while working on a wide variety of tasks.
- Willingness to serve on a team in a growing and energetic international ministry organization.
