We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial operations for an organization based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can manage core accounting activities with accuracy, maintain organized records, and contribute to reliable financial reporting. The role offers the opportunity to work across bookkeeping, invoicing, and administrative finance functions while helping the team stay on top of budgets, reporting deadlines, and account activity.
Responsibilities:
• Manage daily bookkeeping activity, including recording financial transactions and maintaining accurate accounting records.
• Process invoices, monitor incoming and outgoing payments, and follow up on outstanding balances to support healthy cash flow.
• Perform accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks with a high level of accuracy and timeliness.
• Reconcile bank accounts and other financial records regularly to ensure balances are current and discrepancies are resolved.
• Prepare monthly financial summaries and assist with external financial reporting requirements.
• Support budget tracking and grant-related financial administration by maintaining documentation and monitoring expenses.
• Use QuickBooks and other accounting systems, including Peachtree, to maintain financial data and generate reports.
• Assist with office-related administrative and financial procedures, and support coordination with external agencies during audits, reporting, or site visits.
• Demonstrated experience in bookkeeping and general accounting support.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks for transaction entry, account management, and reporting.
• Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoice processing.
• Strong ability to complete bank reconciliations accurately and on schedule.
• Working knowledge of accounting principles and standard financial procedures.
• Ability to prepare financial reports and maintain organized documentation with attention to detail.
• Experience using accounting software such as Peachtree is preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
