Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Prepare and record journal entries, ensuring accuracy in debits & credits in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and balance sheets regularly to maintain financial accuracy.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable processes efficiently, including invoice processing and payment tracking.
- Conduct account analysis and general ledger reconciliation to ensure consistency across financial records.
- Assist with payroll processing and related tax filings while maintaining compliance with governmental regulations.
- Support budgeting activities by providing detailed financial data and preparing comprehensive financial reports.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Quicken.
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, including double entry bookkeeping and financial concepts.
- Experience with non-profit accounting practices is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of governmental accounting standards and tax experience is a plus.
- Ability to perform bank reconciliations, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation accurately.
- Familiarity with technical accounting tasks such as journal entries, account analysis, and general ledger accounting.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently; proficiency in 10 key typing is preferred.
- Strong communication skills for financial report writing and collaborating with team members on budget planning and account analysis.
