Box Truck Delivery Driver

Purpose: Drive a truck and trailer with a capacity of less than 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), to deliver product to retail customers.

Must load and unload product from vehicle safely & deliver to store; merchandise product; rotate product code dates; work with customers. Attention must be paid to company sales objectives, programs and goals. Must display professional appearance and attitude. Good communication and quality customer service are mandatory.

Must have active Driver’s License and a clean Motor Vehicle Record. Must pass pre-employment physical & drug test, and random drug testing. IF UNABLE TO PASS A DRUG TEST AT ANY TIME, APPLICANT NEED NOT APPLY. SERIOUSLY.

Education: High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)

DOT REGULATIONS

· Follow DOT regulations to inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition. Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.

· Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.

JOB DESCRIPTION

· Delivery and merchandising of product to designated retail accounts

· Restocking account inventories by moving product from back rooms to cold boxes, displays and shelves (cold & warm) ensuring all products are within code date

· Stocking shelves, merchandising and displaying product with appropriate prepared POS materials as directed

· Inspecting and ensuring that all product delivered is accurate according to requested order

· Responsibility for the collection of payment or invoice, daily route reconciliation, and load and truck preparation for next sales day

· Developing and maintaining good communication with managers at each account

· Must assure customer satisfaction by being friendly, courteous, professional and honest

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Good attendance is mandatory.

Must follow direction and maintain quality standards of company. Must communicate with sales team, supervisors and customers. Problem-solving skills are beneficial.

Must be able to perform general physical activity and work inside, outside and in coolers.

Must be able to lift products weighing 20 pounds repetitively, carry or hold items weighing 50 pounds minimum, with or without assistance.
