Building Materials Sr. Specialist

Job Purpose:

To manage the procurement, quality assurance, and supply of building materials, ensuring timely delivery, compliance with specifications, cost-effectiveness, and support for construction projects in alignment with organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Procurement & Supplier Management

Source, evaluate, and select suppliers for building materials based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities.

Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers to secure optimal commercial agreements.

Monitor supplier performance and resolve any supply issues.

2. Quality Assurance & Compliance

Ensure all building materials comply with project specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Coordinate material inspections, testing, and certification processes.

Manage and report any non-compliance or quality deviations.

3. Inventory & Logistics Coordination

Maintain adequate inventory levels to meet project demands without excess stock.

Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams for smooth delivery and storage of materials.

Track material movement and update project teams on availability status.

4. Cost Control & Reporting

Monitor material costs and assist in budgeting and forecasting.

Prepare regular reports on procurement status, material availability, and cost variances.

Identify cost-saving opportunities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

5. Stakeholder Coordination

Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and quality control departments.

Support project planning and scheduling by ensuring material availability aligns with timelines.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Supply Chain, or related field.

4 - 5 years of relevant experience in procurement or materials management within construction or real estate sectors.

Strong knowledge of building materials, industry standards, and quality control procedures.

Skills and Competencies:

Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

Good communication and coordination skills.

Proficient in procurement software, ERP systems, and MS Office.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
