We’re looking for a Business Affairs Specialist to join our Record Label Licensing Team. This role will engage with independent record labels in securing new rights, support the Record Label Licensing team in licensing partner management and operationalize content license agreements. The Business Affairs Specialist will also liaise with internal teams to optimize business processes and operational workflows, establish structure, and lead projects that drive efficiency. This individual will have passion for music, an entrepreneurial spirit, and experience in the music industry working with record labels.
Key job responsibilities
- Present and execute new licensing terms and Amazon Music strategies with record labels
- Perform regular business reviews with record labels
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and independent record labels
- Perform analysis to quantify the impact of royalty models, and other terms that are negotiated with record labels
- Operationalize contractual terms and conditions relating to content licensing agreements
- Monitor the competitive landscape to help inform Amazon Music’s strategic priorities
- Perform content strategy analysis to ensure our customers have the broadest selection of content available, regardless of territory
- Partner with internal Finance, Content Operations, Catalog, Legal and Royalties & Reporting teams to help continuously improve collaboration and internal tools/processes
- 4+ years of studio, production company or television network experience
- 4+ years of entertainment industry deal negotiation experience
- Experience with complex commercial/legal concepts and drafting, ability to quickly read and interpret legal terminology and reasoning
- Experience in negotiating complex agreements with an understanding of legal terminology and reasoning
- Experience working for content distributor, digital content service, or legal firm (legal training/ PQE desirable)
- Experience structuring and negotiating terms for commercial content content deals e.g. production commissions, existing content licences, talent, multi-title/output

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $86,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $184,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
