Business Analyst-Renewable Energy

( www.ecoplexus.com ) is a leading renewables developer, owner, and operator with end-to-end execution capabilities, including all phases of development, financing, EPC, O&M, and asset management. The company focuses on utility-scale solar and energy storage projects in the 75-400 MW range in the U.S. We’ve successfully developed 90 projects in the US from greenfield site selection to commercial operation.

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented self-starter to join our Commercial Analytics team, collaborating closely with project acquisitions, development, and strategy teams. This entry to mid-level position offers the opportunity to grow in the fast-paced renewable energy industry, working on strategic challenges, data-driven solutions, and cross-functional projects.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of the US energy market and renewable energy assessment tools (PVsyst, Windographer, WindPro, OpenWind).
• Monitor and analyze on-site measurement data, perform MCP analysis, and generate capacity factor, energy yield, and revenue models.
• Develop automation scripts and analytical tools using SQL, Python, JavaScript. ( SQL is must, Python JS knowledge is plus)
• Manage and analyze large-scale market datasets, including pricing, demand, production, and spatial data, to support decision-making and project evaluation.
• Create and maintain project databases, dashboards, and reports using Tableau, Power BI, and visualization libraries.
• Collaborate on GIS projects with GeoServer, PostGIS, and QGIS for spatial data integration and analysis.
• Support frontend (HTML/CSS/JS) and backend (API/data) development for internal and external applications.
• Propose and implement process optimizations to improve workflow efficiency and performance.
• Prepare technical documentation, executive summaries, and presentations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in business analysis, software development, or renewable energy analytics.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, JavaScript, and MS Office (Excel).
• Experience in renewable energy; knowledge of PVsyst, Windographer, WindPro, SolarGIS, SAM or similar tools is a plus.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, ApexCharts).
• Hands-on experience with API integration and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
• Familiarity with GIS tools (GeoServer, PostGIS, QGIS).
• Understanding of database design, query optimization, and version control (Git).
• Experience in designing automated workflows and ETL processes.
• Ability to build interactive dashboards and analytical tools for web platforms.
