Business Analyst — Job Description

Role summary

A Business Analyst (BA) identifies business needs, analyzes processes and data, and recommends solutions that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support strategic goals. The BA translates stakeholder requirements into clear specifications for technical and non-technical teams and supports solution delivery.

Key responsibilities

  • Requirements gathering: Elicit, document, and validate business and functional requirements from stakeholders using interviews, workshops, surveys, and observation.
  • Analysis & modeling: Map current-state processes; design future-state processes; create use cases, user stories, process flows, data models, and gap analyses.
  • Stakeholder management: Build relationships with business owners, product managers, developers, QA, and operations; facilitate meetings and drive consensus.
  • Solution definition: Translate requirements into clear functional specifications, acceptance criteria, wireframes, or prototypes; evaluate solution options and impacts.
  • Data analysis & reporting: Analyze datasets to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities; create dashboards, KPIs, and metrics to track outcomes.
  • Project support: Support project planning, prioritization, sprint planning, QA testing (write/execute test cases), and UAT coordination.
  • Change management: Prepare training materials, user guides, and rollout plans; support adoption and gather post-implementation feedback.
  • Continuous improvement: Identify process inefficiencies and propose incremental improvements or automation opportunities.

Required skills & qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Finance, Economics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in business analysis, product/business consulting, or related roles.
  • Strong requirements elicitation, documentation, and process-mapping skills.
  • Proficiency with modeling and documentation tools (e.g., MS Visio, Lucid chart, Jira, Confluence).
  • Comfortable with SQL or other basic data-querying tools; experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to present to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: QAR120.32 - QAR162.32 per hour
