Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst – Retail Banking Systems to support retail banking transformation and system enhancement initiatives. The role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to ensure successful delivery of retail banking solutions aligned with strategic and enterprise architecture objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support retail banking transformation programs and system enhancement initiatives.
- Act as a key interface between Retail Banking business units, IT delivery teams, vendors, and governance functions.
- Ensure business requirements align with approved business strategy, IT roadmap, and enterprise architecture principles.
- Contribute to initiative scoping, feasibility assessments, and solution option evaluations.
- Elicit, analyze, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements for retail banking systems, including:
Core retail and customer servicing systems
Customer-facing channels (Mobile, Internet Banking, Branch, Call Centre)
Payments, cards, and customer onboarding processes
- Prepare and maintain requirement artefacts such as:
Business Requirements Documents (BRD)
Functional Specifications / User Stories
Process maps, workflows, use cases, and data flow diagrams
- Facilitate workshops, walkthroughs, and requirement sign-off sessions with stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with:
Retail Banking, Operations, Finance, Compliance, and Risk teams
Internal IT teams (Delivery, Integration, Infrastructure, Information Security)
External vendors and system integrators
- Support UAT planning and execution, including requirement clarification, test case validation, and defect analysis.
- Manage requirement changes and conduct impact assessments through formal change management processes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, operational, and performance standards.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with business and technology stakeholders.
- Act as a trusted advisor for clarifying business needs and resolving requirement gaps.
- Support documentation and knowledge transfer to ensure system continuity and operational readiness.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst within banking or financial services (experience in Oman or GCC preferred).
- Strong exposure to retail banking systems including core banking, digital channels, payments, cards, and customer servicing platforms.
- Experience working on vendor-led implementations and collaborating with internal IT delivery teams.
- Hands-on experience in UAT coordination, change management, and production rollout support.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Business Analysis certification (CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or equivalent) – Preferred.
