Position Overview:
The Business Consultant is a high-impact, client-facing role responsible for helping independent auto repair shops improve operations, increase profitability, and build high-performance businesses. This role combines strategic training, operational implementation, and cross-functional coordination to drive real results for shop owners.
The Specialist will work directly with clients to implement proven systems in marketing, workflow, sales training, and financial performance, while also serving as the primary liaison between the shop and DRIVE’s internal departments. Your goal is to ensure a seamless, high-value experience by guiding the client through each phase of their journey and connecting them with the right resources and specialists inside our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing Strategy & Implementation

Guide shop owners in launching and managing proven marketing systems that drive car count and attract high-value customers.

Collaborate with DRIVE’s internal Marketing Services Department (which builds and manages websites, social media, and Google Ads) to align client strategy and execution.

Ensure marketing efforts are tracked and optimized using KPIs and reporting tools.
Workflow & Operational Efficiency

Analyze shop operations and help implement systems and SOPs to streamline workflow, improve communication, and increase productivity.

Provide training and structure to shop owners for time management, delegation, and leadership development.

Help implement and optimize DRIVE’s proprietary Operations Software Suite, which includes:

Team Builder (hiring/tracking)

Playbook (LMS/workflows)
-
KPI System
-
Shop Management System (SMS)
-
Digital Vehicle Inspection (DVI)
-
CRM
-
Reputation Management Tools
Sales & Team Development
-
Train service advisors and front-line staff on proven sales techniques, including value-based selling, estimate presentation, phone skills, and closing.

Lead or coordinate training sessions in collaboration with internal workshop department trainers.

Monitor sales performance using key shop metrics and dashboards.
Financial Growth & Profitability

Coach shop owners on strategies to improve gross sales, gross profit, net profit, and personal compensation.

Partner with DRIVE’s Bookkeeping Support Department to ensure shop owners understand and act on financial reports.

Provide ongoing accountability to help clients stay on track with their business and income goals.
Cross-Department Coordination & Leadership

Serve as the primary point of contact between the shop owner and all DRIVE departments.

Ensure a smooth onboarding and integration process for each department’s tools, services, and training.

Coordinate efforts between departments such as:

Marketing Services

Bookkeeping Support

Recruiting Services

Training Workshops
-
Operations Software Support

Support department trainers during training sessions to reinforce implementation and client understanding.
Client Organization & Accountability

Help shop owners structure their daily operations, organize their teams, and run efficient, profitable departments.

Conduct regular training calls and progress reviews.

Track KPIs, report progress, and maintain detailed client records to ensure long-term success.
Qualifications:

3+ years experience in business consulting, auto shop operations, or training (automotive industry experience strongly preferred).

Knowledge of marketing, operational systems, team development, and small business finance.

Experience using or implementing shop software tools like SMS, DVI, CRM, or KPI dashboards.

Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.

High emotional intelligence and the ability to build trust with clients and team members.

Tech-savvy and able to learn and teach digital platforms and systems.
