Overview

A Business Development Associate (BDA) is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building client relationships, and supporting the sales and marketing teams to drive company growth. They play a key role in generating leads, qualifying prospects, and contributing to revenue expansion efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation: Research, identify, and develop new business prospects through cold calling, emailing, networking, and social outreach.
  • Prospect Qualification: Evaluate potential clients to understand their needs, budget, and decision-making process.
  • Client Relationship Management: Engage with prospects to build trust, present solutions, and nurture relationships.
  • Sales Support: Assist the sales team with preparing proposals, presentations, and follow-up materials.
  • Market Research: Analyze industry trends, competitor activities, and market opportunities to support strategic planning.
  • CRM Management: Maintain accurate records of interactions, leads, and opportunities in the CRM system.
  • Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, product, and operations teams to support business goals.
  • Performance Tracking: Track and report on key metrics such as lead conversion rates, outreach activity, and pipeline progress.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle objections and engage with prospects confidently.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
  • Self-motivated with a target-driven mindset.
  • Basic understanding of sales processes and marketing strategies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in sales, business development, or customer-facing roles.
  • Experience in the industry relevant to the employer (e.g., tech, SaaS, finance, education, manufacturing).
  • Knowledge of lead generation or sales automation tools.
