What makes the role meaty?


  • Business Expansion Planning :

- Contribute to cross-functional work teams and work closely with Strategy, Marketing and Operations in finalizing expansion plans.

- Bring real estate perspective into the planning discussions and industry knowledge to strengthen plans.

  • Location Planning and Execution :

- Identify and evaluate retail locations in identified cities based on brand fit, target demographics, market demand, footfall, etc.

- Develop and maintain long term relationships with real estate developers and property management firms to identify current and potential locations for expansion.

- Negotiate and finalize LLAs with property owners for both new openings basis expansion plans as well as current boxes for renewals, etc.

  • Expansion Planning and Execution :

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to successfully execute the pre-opening phase of new business units.

- Plan and hold together the flow of expansion workstreams by working closely with Heads of Projects, Legal & Licensing, Marketing, Operations, Finance, etc.

- Demonstrate knowledge on all areas of pre-openings, including but not limited to concept, functionality of design, licenses and compliances, etc. to ensure watertight planning and execution.

- Be accountable for timely opening of the store as per the committed cost and quality plan and hand over to the Operations team.


We hope that you have...

  • 5+ years of experience in offline Real Estate / Retail Business Development, with a proven track record in site identification and acquisition.
  • Strong experience in negotiating and finalizing Lease License Agreements (LLAs) for retail spaces.
  • Expertise in location planning and evaluation based on parameters like footfall, demographics, and brand fit.
  • Demonstrated ability in Program Management to hold together expansion workstreams.
  • Proficiency in Financial Evaluations for assessing deal viability and site profitability.
  • Deep Industry Knowledge of the real estate market, developers, and retail trends.
  • Excellent skills in Teamwork & Collaboration with cross-functional teams (Projects, Operations, Legal, Finance).
  • Strong Communication skills for effective internal and external stakeholder management.
  • Executive Presence and the ability to exert Influence without authority .
