Position Summary
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities that align with the company’s strategic priorities. This individual will cultivate relationships with customers and partners, analyze market trends, and support the development of competitive proposals. The role requires a poised, professional communicator with strong analytical skills and a proven ability to engage effectively across technical and executive audiences.
Primary Responsibilities

Pipeline Development/Capture Management:
Proven ability to manage the entire capture process—identifying new lead opportunities in the aerospace and defense sectors with government and commercial industry customers, securing development funding, and shaping requirements.

Customer Management
: Strengthen and expand relationships with existing customers and industry partners.

Market Intelligence:
Conduct research and analysis on markets, competitors, procurement pathways, and industry trends.

Proposal Development and Management:
Driving the entire proposal lifecycle. Experience leading proposal teams (or acting as proposal manager) to write winning technical and cost volumes.

Strategic Partnerships:
Ability to build teaming agreements (TA) and collaborating with tier-one aerospace Primes and technology firms or subcontractors.

Collaborate with engineering, program management, and leadership teams to ensure alignment between customer requirements and internal capabilities.

Represent the company at customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events in a professional manner.

Maintain a structured opportunity pipeline and provide regular forecasts and briefings to senior leadership.

Contribute to long‑range planning efforts aimed at advancing sustainable, targeted growth.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Aerospace, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, account management, or customer engagement within the aerospace or defense domain.

Understanding of emerging aircraft, launch vehicles, and space technologies.

Strong understanding of aerospace industry structures, acquisition processes, and customer expectations.

Demonstrated ability to develop relationships, negotiate effectively, and support long‑term account stewardship.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and professionally.

Self‑motivated, organized, and capable of working independently within a small, collaborative team environment.

Ability to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with defense agencies, prime contractors, or major aerospace OEMs.

Familiarity with proposal processes, government contracting, and FAR/DFARS requirements.

Technical aptitude or experience coordinating with engineering‑driven teams.

Established network within aerospace, defense, or related high‑reliability industries.
