Business Development Manager – Military Telecommunications Systems & Projects

Muscat, Oman

Rule Purpose: The Business Development Manager (BDM) will play a critical strategic role in expanding the company's presence within the defense and military telecommunications sector. The BDM will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, developing and maintaining relationships with defense agencies, military organizations, and system integrators, and securing high-value contracts aligned with the company's strategic objectives. 


Responsibilities

  • Market Development: Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within Oman’s defense and military telecommunications sector
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to long-term strategic planning, pricing strategies, and partnership development.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with government entities, military stakeholders, defense contractors, and international partners
  • Proposal Management: Lead the preparation of proposals, bids, RFIs, and RFQs for defense projects.
  • Technical Collaboration: Coordinate with technical teams to ensure proposed solutions meet operational, technical, and regulatory requirements
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor defense market trends, procurement schedules, and competitive activities
  • Representation: Represent the company at defense exhibitions, trade shows, and industry conferences
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations and close high-value deals aligned with company objectives
  • Reporting: Maintain detailed records, sales forecasts, and performance reports


Qualifications

  • Proven track record in winning defense sector tenders and managing long-cycle B2G/B2B sales
  • Deep understanding of defense procurement processes, military communications systems (e.g., SATCOM, SDR, tactical radio, secure networks).
  • Familiarity with defense communications standards and acquisition programs (e.g., DoD standards).
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain government security clearance (as applicable).
  • Experience working in international defense markets is preferred.
  • High level of strategic thinking, analytical ability, and ethical standards.
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, and capable of independent work across functions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Business Administration, Defense Studies, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in defense technology or project management are an advantage.
  • 8 – 10 years of business development or sales experience in defense or military-grade telecommunications.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership or senior business development role within a similar sector.
