Business Director

Overview
Marin Girls Chorus is seeking a caring and collaborative Business Director to manage the business and administrative needs of the chorus. Reporting directly to the MGC Board of Directors and working closely with the Artistic Director and teaching staff, the Business Director administers all non-artistic aspects of MCG’s programs and activities. This position provides administration, communications, program management, as well as financial and fundraising support, to MGC in service to the more than 100 girls of Marin County who sing with us each semester.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the business and administrative needs of MGC
  • Manages MGC’s physical property, ensuring proper storage and delivery to on-site classes and events (including occasional evening/weekend classes and event) as needed.
  • Provides administrative support, including printing sheet music, procuring and distributing class materials and binders, assisting with logistics, and planning and executing performances.
  • When applicable, organizes the MGC summer tour including, but not limited, to onboarding chaperones, arranging transportation, arranging accommodation and other tasks as needed.
  • Works with MGC’s bookkeeper on budgeting, assisting with routine bookkeeping functions such as payroll, and managing external accountants.
  • Works closely with the MGC Artistic Director and teaching staff to refine and develop MGC programs and activities, measure the performance of programs, and provide periodic reporting on activities to the Board.
  • Manages and administers MGC operations, including enrollment, classes and class scheduling, communications, online learning platforms, scholarships, performances, summer camps, etc.

  • Experience with Zoom or other online meeting platforms a plus
  • Love of music preferred, and some music background is a plus (but not required)

Physical Requirements

  • Is able to perform computer/office work primarily in a work-from-home environment, including use of office equipment and computers.
  • Is able to communicate clearly in English both in person and over the phone.
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time.
  • Occasionally lift objects weighing 5-10 pounds.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
