The Revenue Cycle Intelligence Analyst is responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and optimizing revenue cycle performance across the organization. This position reports to Revenue Cycle operations.
This role leverages data to identify trends, root causes of revenue leakage, and opportunities for process improvement across registration, billing, coding, claims, and reimbursement functions.
Under general supervision, Business Intelligence Analyst II is responsible for the delivery of business intelligence solutions to end users to facilitate their making more informed and actionable business decisions. Uses development tools to generate reports, dashboards and analytical solutions according tobusiness rules and specifications. Splits time between projects and support activities while adhering to MyMichigan Health’s policies, procedures, and business operations. Demonstrated ability to work independently and/or in a team to train, guide, or assist others to perform complex assignments. Performs in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and review and test software. Provides subject matter expertise for two or more application modules/ data models.
Responsibilities:
(35%)* Collaborate and support department reporting needs
Work with internal customers to identify reporting needs, gather and document requirements, build and test reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions.
Designs simple to complex queries using structure query language and ensures analytic methodologies are followed and makes recommendations where necessary.
Assist other technical team members with query and report design.
Assists in cross training team members and users.
Communicates with third-party vendors and regulatory organizations to understand and manage data requirements and deliverables.
(30%)* Support, Trouble-shooting and Problem solving
Support existing portfolio of reports, dashboards, analytical solutions and tune where necessary. Support and troubleshoot existing ETL processes.
(15%)*Leads small to medium support or project initiatives
Responsible for leading the efforts of small to medium initiatives including planning the work and managing the effort to the plan.
Leverages support of others in completing the tasks on time.
(10%)* Collaborate and support department data consolidation and data warehousing needs
Develop Extract, Transformation, and Load processes from source EMR systems into consolidated healthcare reporting systems utilizing tools like Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Integration Services– SSIS.
(10%)* System Configuration Changes and Modifications –
Participate in testing reports and extracts during system or business changes. Participate in product upgrades and implementations.

Education: Bachelor's degree.

Other Information:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SKILLS
Five (5) or more years computer related experience, which includes two (2) years database and/or interface experience required.
Three (3) or more years of experience developing applications/reports with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, DB2 or other RDBMS platform required.
Proficiency in SQL – ability to develop complex T-SQL or PL/SQL statements and stored procedures.
Experience with reporting tools such as Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS); Crystal Reports or Business Objects. SSRS is preferred.
Knowledge of relational database design and ability to understand relational data models. Proficiency in data manipulation and extraction techniques.
Experience with Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) technology, Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) preferred.
Experience with integrating data from heterogeneous systems (flat files, Excel as well as relational database systems.)
Team orientation, project leadership, problem solving and communication skills required. Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate at multiple organization levels across the health system as required, including both technical and non-technical staff.
Epic trained and / or certified preferred. Project management experience.
Working knowledge of data models from EMRs and/or healthcare. Experience with post-relational DBMSs.
Other programming languages such as C# or
VB.NET.
