Business Manager / Brand Head

Key Responsibilities

Category Strategy & Planning
Develop and implement a comprehensive category strategy for pumps to align with business goals.
Analyze market trends, customer segments, and competitor offerings to uncover growth opportunities.
Supplier & Vendor Management
Build and maintain relationships with suppliers; negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and long-term contracts.
Product Assortment & Lifecycle
Define product assortment, launch new models, and phase out underperforming products.
Pricing & Profitability
Establish competitive pricing strategies and promotional mechanisms to maximize margins.
Inventory & Demand Management
Collaborate with supply chain to optimize stock levels, avoid shortages and overstock, and ensure timely fulfillment.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Sales, Marketing, R&D Team and Supply Chain teams to ensure cohesive category execution.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
Monitor competitor activities, industry trends, and customer feedback. Use analytics to optimize the product line and inform leadership.

Performance Analysis
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales, margin, inventory turns, and profitability. Drive corrective actions where needed.
Leadership & Mentorship
Create, Guide and mentor team members focused on pumps, ensuring alignment with company objectives and category goals.

Qualifications & Required Skills

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering + Business Administration, or a related field. MBA is an advantage.
Experience: Proven 5+ years in category management or product leadership—preferably in industrial components, pumps, or mechanical systems.
Analytical Prowess: Strong ability to interpret sales data, market trends, and forecast demand.
Commercial Acumen: Expertise in supplier negotiation, pricing models, and margin optimization.
Cross-functional Coordination: Skilled at collaborating across departments and driving multi-stakeholder initiatives.
Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of pump applications, customer needs, and market dynamics.
Communication & Leadership: Excellent presentation, reporting, and team leadership capabilities.

Preferred Attributes

Prior exposure to international sourcing and supplier ecosystems.
Experience in launching new models or variants within the pump category.
Familiarity with ERP systems and category management tools.
