About the Job – Business Proposal Writer

We are seeking a skilled Business Proposal Writer to support our government contracting efforts. This role requires an experienced professional with a deep understanding of researching government contract opportunities, gathering relevant information, preparing competitive bids, and ensuring successful submissions. The ideal candidate will have experience handling local, state, and federal contracts, with a proven track record of securing awarded bids.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research & Analysis: Identify and analyze government contract opportunities at the local, state, and federal levels.
  • Bid Preparation: Review and interpret bid requirements, ensuring compliance with regulations and submission guidelines.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Gather necessary documents, verify eligibility, and ensure all bid materials meet government procurement standards.
  • Proposal Development: Draft and refine competitive proposals, aligning with contract

requirements and company capabilities.

  • Bid Submission & Tracking: Manage bid submissions, monitor deadlines, and provide status updates on active proposals.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to compile required information.
  • Industry Updates: Stay informed on government procurement trends, policy changes, and best practices.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience in preparing and submitting bids for government contracts (local, state, and federal).
  • Strong research and analytical skills to assess bid opportunities effectively.
  • Familiarity with government procurement platforms such as SAM.gov, state procurement sites, and local bidding portals.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple bids under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Hands-on experience of graphic tools (Canva, Photoshop)
  • Ability to work independently and strategically plan bid submissions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Proposal writing, grant writing, or government RFP, RFI, SOW, PWS,

and RFQ responses

  • Knowledge of procurement regulations, FAR/DFARS compliance, and government contracting procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and bid management tools.
