Job Summary:
Telemetry & Communications Systems Inc. (TCS) is a growing engineering company seeking a motivated BUYER. The Buyer is responsible for sourcing and acquiring products and materials or services needed to meet the overall supply demands of the production facility. The position requires continuous evaluation and adjustments of priorities and duties based on production needs to ensure production delivery and product availability.

This position is to be filled onsite in Chatsworth, CA. No employer visa sponsorship is available.

Primary Duties:

• Review, analyze, and send Requests for Quotes (RFQs) and associated documents to vendors.
• Generate and manage Purchase Orders (POs); negotiate costs and delivery terms with suppliers.
• Track inventory, order points, and quantities; develop and maintain target inventory levels.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery, expedite shortages, and resolve overdue orders.
• Coordinate shipping schedules with vendors and carriers; seek cost savings for freight.
• Support Accounts Payable by resolving invoice discrepancies.
• Monitor ERP system (Costpoint preferred) for accurate purchase order and delivery date tracking.
• Collaborate with operations to ensure materials are in stock before production needs.
• Accurately track time spent on tasks and projects for billing and project management purposes.
• Maintain an organized workspace and meet productivity and quality targets.

Qualifications:

• Education: High School diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred (Supply Chain, Business, or related field).
• Experience: 5+ yearsof purchasing, supply chain, or materials management experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Systems: Proficiency with ERP/MRP, accounting, or inventory systems; Costpoint experience strongly preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
• Analytical Skills: Ability to perform cost, quantity, and delivery analysis, including discounts, percentages, and pricing calculations.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across departments and with vendors.
• Soft Skills: Organized, detail-oriented, professional, and able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position will be working directly on a contract with the U.S. Government which requires all employees performing these functions to be U.S. Citizens.

Compensation:

• Salary Range: $70,000-80,000 annually (based on experience)

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
