The Buyer Analyst Level 2 is responsible for establishing delivery schedules of materials to ensure production requirements are met, while focusing on cost-effective sourcing of non-strategic materials for HPS North America. At the plant level, the role involves sourcing cost effective strategic materials and negotiating day-to-day purchases as well as Letters of Intent (LOIs) for HPS North America.

Key Responsibilities

Material Sourcing

  • Sources non-strategic and strategic commodities in a cost-effective manner.
  • Prepares and evaluates quotations based on price, quality, and delivery attributes.
  • Negotiates North American LOI’s based on a TCO approach.
  • Assists in disposal of excess and obsolete materials and products.

Projects

  • Represents the department on assigned teams in a professional manner.
  • Summarizes activities, results, and commitments in an effective manner.

Material Scheduling

  • Maintains critical material information in the ERP system (lead-times, pricing, safety stocks, and vendor data).
  • Places purchase orders.
  • Analyzes, schedules, and expedites material based on ERP requests.
  • Amends delivery dates as required.
  • Expedite material deliveries where appropriate.

Supplier Involvement

  • Provides timely forecasts to suppliers.
  • Coordinates supplier activities with other HPS plants and departments.
  • Evaluate supplier performance metrics (quality, delivery, cost).

Plant Support

  • Provides guidance and training to plant personnel involved in materials activities.
  • Provides assistance to other HPS location purchasing personnel as required.

Do you qualify? We are seeking:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Management or similar
  • 2-5 years of experience
  • Familiarity with MS Office.
  • Good negotiation skills.
  • Self-directed.
  • Problem solving, judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate with internal customers and other departments.
  • Ability to participate and lead project teams and contribute effectively.
  • Understanding of the requirements in standards and codes.
  • Able to communicate with customers and vendors, align requirements with transformer specifications, and resolve issues effectively.
  • Eager to learn and develop new skills.
  • Works well in a team, offering support to others and seeking help when necessary.
  • Provides guidance and mentorship to other designers.
