The Opportunity
The Buyer II is charged with buying saleable product by discovering, encouraging, and cultivating new ideas while keeping the customer at the heart of everything that they do. Responsibilities include assembling seasonally appropriate merchandise assortments and identifying and developing key promotional business drivers for designated category and brand that will relate to customers. Build their business by identifying and executing strategies as well as collaborating with internal teams to maximize sales. Responsible for translating strategies into compelling and achievable goals. Works very closely with DMM and GMM. Acts as a primary backup to Sr. Buyer/DMM. Attends and presents at leadership meetings, as needed.
We have multiple Buyer II openings supporting variety of categories: Apparel, Home Decor, Culinary, Footwear, Electronics, Jewelry, & Beauty.
This position is hybrid and based out of our West Chester, PA office. You must live within a commutable distance.

Your Impact
Develop and execute multi-platform short and mid-range buying plans that meet or exceed the financial goals.
Develop multi-platform plans that will deliver sales, productivity, adjusted gross margin, TSV/TS achievement rates and inventory plans. Identify areas of growth while managing areas of risk.
Execute the vision for Buying area. · Identify and develop new products and brands that will deliver the Buying area strategy.
Seek and analyze data from a variety of sources to support decisions.
Develop an entrepreneurial and creative approach to developing new, innovative ideas that will deliver results. Accelerate product discovery. Lean into emerging categories and product adjacencies.
Set and deliver clear goals while committing to the buying area improved performance.
Curate unique products and assortments and develop storytelling that illustrates a product's features by way of its benefits and show how product will impact the customer's life
Develop talent, delegate effectively, celebrate diversity within the team and manage performance.
Manage vendor relationships. Effectively conduct vendor negotiations that best supports business objectives.
Develop strong relationships with Category Strategy and Business Development and Product Development Teams to execute business and product strategies.
What You Bring
You hold a bachelor's Degree or equivalent business experience. Ideally, we are looking for at minimum, five years' experience in a Retail Buying environment with strong leader skills to lead a buying team.
You have strong presentation skills to present to vendors, leadership and key stakeholders.
You have strong experience leading national brands and exercising product development consult to drive assortment.
You are comfortable with coming into the office 6 days per month or whenever is needed to support the business with key strategy meetings.
Remote work is not permitted in NYC at this time.
