Boxco Studio is a custom cabinetry company based in Greenfield, Massachusetts, specializing in modern, design-forward kitchen and built-in cabinetry. We work with architects, interior designers, and residential clients across New England to create high-quality, fully customized pieces from our production shop. We're a small, close-knit team that takes pride in our craft, our process, and the relationships we build with our clients and trade partners.

Position Overview

As a Boxco Studio cabinetmaker, you will be responsible for the production of Boxco’s cabinets, from parts cut on the CNC to the finished product. You will report directly to the Production Manager and, as a member of the shop team, you will work with the Production Manager, designers, engineering, and other cabinetmakers to complete projects. You will be expected to work with the Production Manager and shop team to understand the design and specific details of each project so that you can perform most tasks independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review project shop drawings and assembly sheets at each project kick-off meeting. Assess and look for potential issues with fabrication.
  • Sort and inventory case parts from the CNC and prep for sanding and assembly
  • Perform edge sanding of case parts and drawer box parts
  • Perform case and drawer box assembly
  • Install case hardware and drawer boxes
  • Install custom pullouts and specialty hardware
  • Install and adjust doors, fronts, and pulls
  • Assist in finishing as needed, including finish sanding of doors and panels
  • Fabricate parts not cut on the CNC using the table saw and other machines
  • Pack and prepare finished cabinets for shipment/delivery
  • Receive deliveries of plywood and other sheet goods
  • Clean the shop daily: put away all tools and store finishes, sweep floors and clean surfaces, and take out trash and break down recycling as needed
  • Perform regular maintenance of shop equipment and machinery as directed
  • Track your own time using Workforce

Qualifications & Skills

  • Cabinetry, woodworking, or custom fabrication experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and technical documents
  • Ability to safely operate basic woodworking machinery
  • GED, high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 2+ years experience in woodshop preferred
  • Mechanical ability, manual dexterity and the ability to pay attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal skills enabling coordination with job managers and co-workers
  • Able to work independently if necessary and to identify and solve problems
  • Demonstrate maturity and a humble approach to tackling new skills
  • Able to work safely and consciously with regard to yourself and fellow workers

Working Conditions

This is a manual labor position in a woodshop, and the ability to focus and to follow directions is critical. You must be able to maintain a standing position for prolonged periods of time. You must be able to lift 50+ lbs.

Compensation, Hours, and Benefits

Compensation: $26.25/hour

Work Schedule: 32 hrs/week, Monday–Thursday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. The shop is open from 7 AM to 5:30 PM Monday–Friday. All shop team members must attend shop team meetings at 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM M–Th.
