CAD Designer

Are you interested in working on high-profile bridge projects and supporting this country's infrastructure? If so, R.J. Watson Inc. designs and manufactures structural bearing devices and other custom fabricated components for the bridge construction industry and we are looking to hire a full time Designer to the team. We are looking for a CAD operator with a strong background with 3D modeling & drafting. The position is a first shift, full-time hourly position with opportunity for overtime. The chosen candidate will work directly with project engineers to model their designs and turn those designs into 2D shop drawings for fabrication. R.J. Watson has full machining, fabrication, assembly, and testing capabilities on site where you can see your work turn into a finalized product before shipping out to the customer.

Requirements

• 3D modeling & 2D drafting experience required.
• Solidworks experience preferred.
• Experience putting together technical drawings for shop fabrication.
• Detail oriented.
• Competency reading and interpreting Blueprints.
• Proficient with MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Experience designing using structural steel/plate preferred.
• Experience using configurations within Solidworks is a plus.
• Experience using add-is such as Driveworks or Cam software is a plus.
