Job Summary:

MATBOCK, LLC, a leading defense technology company based in Virginia Beach, VA. We are seeking a highly motivated and creative CAD Designer with a passion for automotive and motorsports design and innovation. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and brings both technical precision and creative problem-solving to every project. This role requires someone who can transform complex ideas into clear, manufacturable designs while collaborating closely with our engineering and fabrication teams to bring cutting-edge performance concepts to life.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize CAD tools to design and integrate electrical and mechanical systems within hybrid electric vehicles and motorsports applications ensuring seamless operation.
• Create and review detailed system schematics, CAD models, and technical presentations.
• Develop practical solutions for complex system-level challenges, ensuring adherence to industry standards and MIL-STD requirements.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical and mechanical components effectively.
• Participate actively in design reviews, providing valuable insights into system integration and performance.

Requirements and Skills:

• 2+ years of experience in 3D CAD design.
• Knowledge of automotive and motorsports design.
• Proficiency in CAD software and tools (e.g., NX, SolidWorks, Onshape).
• Familiarity with MIL-STD requirements and industry standards.
• Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) and finite element analysis (FEA) is advantageous.
• Strong technical writing skills for preparing detailed documentation and reports.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Technical Certification in CAD or similar.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated, capable of working independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Work Environment:

• Combination of office and laboratory settings.
• Occasional travel to project sites or manufacturing facilities may be required.
• Standard office equipment and testing tools will be used.
