CAD Designer I

OVERVIEW:
Contribute to the design implementation process of new product development through 3D modeling and detailed technical drawing creation. Must be proficient with 3D design principles, manufacturing tolerances, and industry standards. Technical problem-solving and evaluation abilities are required. Familiarity with 3D design and manufacturing philosophies is essential. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a CAD team are also necessary.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collaborate with design engineers to create new revisions of 3D models and detailed technical manufacturing drawings

Be proficient in the use of one or more 3D CAD systems, engineering database tools, revision control systems, and Part Lifecycle Management (PLM) software

Integrate company objectives into your work by having a basic understanding of the GIW workflow, product platforms, and processes

Work within a CAD team to identify and solve complex problems

Make drawing changes from verbal information or rough sketches

Ensure the reliability of downstream processes by generating high-quality, error-free models and drawings for both internal and external production, as well as for use by the final customer

Support complex design initiatives within a CAD team

Utilize established CAD design practices, standards, and work instructions

Communicate professionally on technical matters relating to pump design and manufacture
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
-
Minimum of a two-year Associate’s degree in Computer Aided Design or equivalent
Experience:
-
2 years of experience using 3D CAD software
-
Experience should include 3D modeling and assemblies, as well as 2D drawing
-
Must be proficient in the skills needed to produce 3D models and 2D drawings

Should be familiar with fabrications and GD&T
