Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive music and arts curricula tailored to different age groups and skill levels.
• Lead engaging classes in music, dance (including ballet and theater), and other creative activities such as singing, acting, or musical theater.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe, respectful, and motivating environment for all children.
• Incorporate various artistic disciplines such as photography, sewing, culinary arts, or movement into lesson plans to enrich campers’ experiences.
• Support children’s emotional and social development through positive reinforcement and personalized attention.
• Collaborate with fellow instructors to coordinate activities, special events, and performances that showcase camper talents.
• Maintain organized records of attendance, progress, and student participation while ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.

Experience

• Prior classroom experience working with children in educational or camp settings is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated skills in curriculum development across multiple disciplines including music, dance (ballet or dancing), theater, or arts & crafts.
• Experience in early childhood education or preschool environments is advantageous.
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques to support diverse learning needs, including special education or childhood development strategies.
• Proficiency in lesson planning that integrates creative arts such as photography, sewing, culinary arts, or movement-based activities.
• Background in working with students of varying ages—early childhood through elementary—and understanding their developmental stages.
