Specialty Camp Instructor

For Summer 2026 we are seeking: Dance Camp Instructor, Pokemon Camp Instructor, Camp Runway (Fashion Camp) Instructor, Golf Camp Instructor. Please indicate your preferred camp in your application.

Wheeler Summer’s philosophy is all about giving campers an opportunity to be active in an outdoor environment, explore new things, have fun, build confidence, and make long-lasting friendships!

Our Summer Camp programs, for children ages 3 to 15, feature a busy day full of fun camp activities for campers grouped by age. Campers who are curious to explore have a choice of our two-week-long Specialty Camps in athletics, arts, and enrichment directed by highly qualified organizations and our wonderful Wheeler faculty. Our Specialty Camps are full-day programs that include a half-day of Specialty Camp and a half-day of Traditional Camp. Swim lessons take place each day for campers in both programs. Wheeler summer will also offer a few specialized programs this summer that are full-day programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Create programming for their specific camp (approximately 3 hours)
  • Explain rules and purpose of camp to keep campers and staff safe
  • Plan each block with age appropriate and engaging activities for each group
  • Respect equipment and facilities; keeping your materials organized and ensuring they last through the summer
  • Be compassionate and show empathy towards campers
  • Being flexible and adaptable
  • Punctuality is a must
  • Follow policy and procedures, ie emergency protocols
  • Attend all camp meetings and Division meetings

Perform other duties as assigned by the Camp Director or Camp Administration.

Qualifications:

Instructor must be 21 years old. Experience is necessary for specialized areas and experience working with children is required (ie: babysitting, coaching, family helper etc.). The ideal candidate has excellent communication, problem solving skills and is adaptable.

Orientation: June 15-17, 2026

Camp hours: 8:15am-4:15pm Monday through Friday with some exceptions

June 22-August 21, 2026

This is a seasonal position that is exempt from overtime and benefits.
