Summer Camp Director

Job Overview
Join us as a Summer Camp On site Director and help to lead an exciting, dynamic team oriented summer camp program designed to inspire youth during the summer months. In this energetic role, you will oversee daily camp operations, supervise staff, help to coordinate activities, and foster a safe, inclusive environment where children can thrive. You will be overseeing pool operations and camp trip operations as part of the role. Your leadership will ensure that every camper experiences a memorable summer filled with growth, fun, and meaningful connections. This position offers an incredible opportunity to make a positive impact while developing your skills in education, childcare, coaching, supervising, and program management.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and supervise daily camp activities that promote engagement, teamwork, and personal development
  • Lead a team of counselors and staff by providing guidance, training, and support to ensure smooth camp operations
  • Maintain a safe environment at the pool, on trips and on main camp grounds by enforcing safety protocols, conducting regular safety checks, and responding promptly to emergencies with first aid or other necessary interventions
  • Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding camper progress, behavior, and camp updates
  • Manage logistical aspects such as scheduling activities, coordinating special events, and ensuring all equipment and supplies are available and well-maintained
  • Foster an inclusive atmosphere that respects diverse backgrounds and needs, including those related to special education or behavioral management
  • Promote positive behavior management strategies to encourage respectful interactions among campers and staff

Skills

  • Strong classroom and supervisory management skills to maintain order and foster a positive learning environment
  • Experience in education or working with children in daycare, coaching, or camp settings
  • Knowledge of first aid procedures and certification in CPR is highly desirable
  • Ability to adapt activities for children with special needs or different learning styles
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, staff, and community partners
  • Background in sports coaching, theater arts, stem programs, or tutoring can enhance program offerings
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in childcare, babysitting, or teaching roles

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: $4,500.00 - $6,000.00 per month
