Caregiver for Elderly/Med tech

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities

· Provides direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction.

· Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides personal care, comfort and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment for an assigned group or patients.

· Assists in the preparation for admission of patients.

· Assists in and accompanies patients in the admission, transfer, and discharge procedures.

· Provides general care, such as positioning patients, lifting and turning residents, applying/utilizing special equipment, assisting in use of bedpan or commode, and ambulating the patients.

· Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.

· Ensures patients are dressed properly and assists, as necessary.

· Ensures that used clothing is properly stored in bedside stand or on hangers in closet.

· Ensures that all patients are clean and dry at all times.

· Checks unit for adequate linen.

· Folds neatly and arranges linen in linen closet.

· Provides clean linen and clothing.

· Makes beds.

· Abiding with all facility policies and procedures including not disclosing user ID codes and passwords

· Following Infection and Control policies

· Reporting any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or other hazardous materials to a supervisor immediately

· Attending facility in-service training programs

· Follow infection control policies and procedures

· Completing other assignments when requested by management.

Requirements

· Current California CPR certification

· Food Handler Certificate

. Looking for Per Diem coverage to include Weekends and PM and Noc shifts.

• AM 6am-2pm
• Pm 2pm-11pm
• Night 11pm-6am
