You will utilize your medical knowledge and caregiving skills to assist with daily activities, monitor health status, and support medical procedures in accordance with healthcare regulations and standards. Responsibilities
- Provide personalized care to residents and patients, including assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and nutrition.
- Administer medications and treatments following prescribed protocols, including medication administration and tube feeding procedures.
- Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; document findings accurately using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Support specialized care needs including Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, hospice care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities.
- Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, wound dressing changes, and physiology-based tasks requiring anatomy knowledge.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and ensuring proper medical documentation.
- Operate medical equipment like Epic or Cerner systems for accurate record-keeping and communication with healthcare teams.
- Collaborate effectively with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care across acute care settings or home & community environments.
- Follow infection control protocols and safety procedures to promote a secure environment for residents and staff alike.
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals or home care environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and patient care techniques.
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for managing medical records efficiently.
- Background in caring for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia is advantageous.
- Familiarity with hospice care practices and working with individuals who have complex health needs is a plus.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive situations with compassion while maintaining professionalism under HIPAA guidelines.
