Job Summary
The Care Staff / Caregiver provides compassionate, hands-on support to elderly clients, assisting with daily living activities, personal care, mobility, and emotional well-being. The role ensures safety, dignity, and comfort while following care plans and company standards.
Key Responsibilities Personal Care
- Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Support mobility and transfers using safe handling techniques.
- Help with continence care and hygiene maintenance.
Daily Living Support
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration.
- Support with medication reminders (not administration unless trained/authorized).
- Help with light housekeeping such as bed-making, laundry, and room organization.
- Accompany clients for walks, activities, or medical appointments.
Health Monitoring
- Observe and report changes in physical or emotional condition.
- Check and record vital signs if trained and required.
- Alert the supervisor/nurse about emergencies or unusual symptoms.
Emotional & Social Support
- Provide companionship and meaningful social interaction.
- Engage clients in activities that promote mental stimulation and well-being.
- Encourage independence while ensuring safety.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow care plans and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and infection-control practices.
- Document care activities accurately and on time.
- Ensure a safe environment and report hazards immediately.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Caregiver/ elder-care training or certification preferred.
- Previous experience in elderly care, home care, or assisted living (preferred).
- Ability to handle physical tasks (lifting, assisting movement).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a caring attitude toward elderly persons.
Skills
- Knowledge of basic elder-care techniques.
- Ability to follow instructions and care plans.
- Observation and reporting skills.
- Time management and reliability.
- Basic first aid knowledge (preferred).
Working Conditions
- May require shift work, including weekends and holidays.
- Work may involve home visits or facility-based care.
- Physically demanding tasks such as lifting and assisting mobility.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹21,000.00 per month
