SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Cargo Coordinator is responsible for keeping track of all cargo at the terminal, ensuring accurate inventory is maintained, collecting and verifying relevant documentation on all cargo brought to the terminal, reconciling cargo bookings, and providing all required documentation to Customs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the Terminal Operations Manager in the handling and processing of documentation.
Keep track of cargo on-hand at the terminal and ensure the inventory is accurate in E-port.
Check-in and collect relevant documentation from truckers dropping off cargo at the terminal and reconcile dock receipt/delivery orders with cargo bookings in the Auto/RoRo application in E-port.
Generate the Teamster checkers receiving paperwork and shipping label stickers.
Collect and verify all required documentation (original title, bill of sale and lien release).
Scan and email all paperwork to CBP by close of day, segregating all original documents for delivery to CBP office the following morning each day and delivering /picking-up cargo documentation at CBP office in downtown Wilmington daily.
Update export bookings in E-port supplied by Grimaldi.
Coordinate original documents returned from CBP and aggregate per broker, returning via FEDEX as directed by Grimaldi.
Support the Terminal Operations Manager in daily email communication with Grimaldi and management of EDI, including maintaining the Auto/RoRo application in E-port.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
Experience in marine terminals or logistics operations and basic understanding of shipping documentation a plus.
Proficient in MS Office, Word and Excel.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively.
Must be detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with employees and customers.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and/or holidays as needed.
Must have or meet the eligibility requirements to obtain a TWIC.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, handle objects, reach with hands and arms, write, talk, type and hear. Employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, bend and or kneel and lift and or move up to 35 lbs. Employee works in a trailer and/or outdoor environment.
